Day 25: Inspired by Fashion *Throwback*

While I consider myself to be pretty fresh and fashionable, I wouldn't call myself a fashionista. I don't keep up with the latest trends. I just don't care... I do my own thing... And unless we're talking about Chiavari chairs or Balenciaga bags, labels mean nothing to me...

However, there is one label (other than the two previously mentioned) that if I could a) walk in heels and; b) afford it with my measly state worker wages, I would jump all over it.

That's right. Louboutin.

It's just something about those red bottoms that pull me in.

I did this a few months ago on my nails. It ended up looking really awesome. The only down side was trying to get the red out from under my nails when I was ready to change the polish.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm hella clumsy and cannot even begin to walk in heels and that they're hella expensive, I would snatch these bad boys up in a heart beat (the towel and the shoes).

These are definitely more my speed.

Day 24: Inspired by a book

I must admit, this week I'm not as focused on my nails as I should be. I got my very first order on my etsy page and it's a huge one. In total, they ordered 12 custom items. So I've been painting like crazy but for the first time in a long time, it hasn't been my nails...

When I'm crafting, I don't paint my nails because I get paint all over my hands and it would ruin whatever design I might have on my nails at the time.

It was inspired by Dante's Inferno. I really like how it rhymes. It's a great book.

Don't mind the paint all over the orange polish. One of my white polishes broke and spilled all over a bunch of my other polishes, including that one.

Day 23: Inspired by a Movie *Throwback*

I love movies. And when I love something I completely over indulge...

Earlier this year, a movie came out about a rap group. I love this rap group so much that I paid to see the movie 5 times in the theater.

I've been loving these guys since 91.

The movie brought back so many fond memories of growing up listening to Tribe that I decided to paint my nails in a tribute to them. The majority of their albums always had this chick covered in red, black and green body paint...

I recreated that look on my nails...

I love these guys. They really did shape my musical ear... I own every album they ever made.

I can't wait until BR&L the movie comes out on DVD!

Day 22: Inspired by a Song

My favorite Lupe Fiasco album is his sophomore album, The Cool.

On this album, there is a song entitled Free Chilly. I love this song for more reasons than I care to mention... This design was inspired by that song and the hope that the man who inspired the song will one day be free...

Day 21: Inspired by a Color

Over the past year I have had several surgeries on my right breast due to reoccurring lumps. Thankfully, they've all been benign. As I sit and type this I'm in pain because I went to the doctor today to get stitches out from my latest surgery and he ended up using silver nitrate on the wound which was pretty excruciating.

Well seeing as how October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and being no stranger to medical conditions of the breast, I decided to use shades of pink for today's challenge...

I've mentioned before that I don't too much care for the color pink but it's for a good cause so I was game. This is what I came up with:

I like the tribal look a lot. With all the pink stripes underneath, it kind of looks like an Easter egg to me.

Day 20: Water Marble

I've only done water marble once before and it turned out ok but it was a mess to clean up and kind of a nightmare to do. This is how it looked:

I must admit that I was not looking forward to trying water marble again. But after reading some handy tips on one of my favorite blogs, I decided to try their method out. This is how it turned out:

It was pretty much a nightmare again. I can never get it right. The tips I got helped a lot. mainly the rubbing chapstick on my fingers for easy clean-up. That worked wonderfully. Still, I am never trying this again. Lol... I only did 3 nails before I jumped ship...
